A coalition of religious leaders and civil rights activists have called for Sunday June 23 to be a national day of prayer and justice for the family and supporters of Trayvon Martin. “On the eve of the start of the George Zimmerman murder trial. Its important that our nation not be torn apart in what’s expected to be one of the most closely watched trials in our nations history. We don’t want racial tensions to possibly erupt or polarize parts of our nation as we have seen before in trials such as O. J. Simpson and the L.A.P.D. officers who beat motorist Rodney King nearly to death. The L.A.P.D. officers subsequent verdicts of being found not guilty by an all White jury touched off the greatest civil unrest in our nations history. We as a nation need to start off and stay united during the course of this trial .And no matter what the verdict is in the Zimmerman ...
