First Lady Obama accepts final White House Christmas Tree
buzzz worthy. . . In what she called the "easiest part of the holiday season" First Lady Michelle Obama accepted the last official White House Christmas tree of her stay. The 19 foot Douglas fir will be decorated by volunteers and displayed in the Blue Room of the White House. David and Mary Vander Velden of Wisconsin presented the carraige-drawn tree as winners of a National Christmas Tree contest. Mrs. Obama was accompanied by her nephews. The arrival of the tree traditionally signifies the start of the Christmas holiday season in our nation's capitol.
