Bebe Winans to perform solo in concert at Lisner Auditorium in DC on May 11

Grammy winner to perform in a rare limited engagement on the day before Mother's Day George Washington University will present critically acclaimed balladeer BeBe Winans at Lisner Auditorium on Saturday, May 11, the day before Mother's Day. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. Winans will review over two decades of Gospel, R&B and Soul infused inspirational songs for one night only. The 50-year-old, who keeps the schedule of a newborn (he said he rises at 4 a.m. and is asleep by the time the sun goes down) chuckled about making an exception for his DC fans, "I'm staying up pass my bedtime." BeBe Winans is the youngest son in the Winans family. The Winans family is to gospel music what the Jacksons are to pop. The entire family has recorded music professionally. BEBE AND CECE WINANS TO RECEIVE WALK OF FAME STAR

Multi-Grammy award winning gospel act BeBe and CeCe Winans' celebrated career will be honored with the 2,452nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday,  October 20.  They began singing professionally  in 1982 as members of the PTL Singers. Known for their contemporary R&B style the Detroit natives are a bright reflection of the Winans gospel music dynasty.  They have sang in tandem for over 20 years as well as enjoyed  success as solo artists.  After a 13-year hiatus from recording, BeBe and CeCe released the highly acclaimed "Still" in 2009.  Among their top recordings are "Heaven," "Addictive Love," "If Anything Ever Happened to You" and "It's Okay."  The Walk of Fame distinction solidifies BeBe and CeCe's place among gospel royals Mahalia Jackson, James Cleveland and Andrae Crouch who also have stars.
