By Mona Austin In the annual oversight hearing for the Justice Department, Senators on the Judiciary Committee grilled Attorney General Pam Bondi for over 4 hours. In one of several heated exchanges Bondi questioned Ranking member Dick Durbin of Illinois pushing back on officials blocking federal law enforcement from coming to his state to assist with lowering crime. Durbin cited a July letter in which he asked the DOJ to explain why hundreds of FBI personnel were assigned to review Epstein files, and why Bondi later claimed there was no client list despite earlier statements suggesting otherwise. Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) also challenged Bondi on her refusal to release audio or video evidence related to other DOJ investigations, accusing her of stonewalling oversight efforts.
