SWEEPING CHANGES AS THE MISS AMERICA ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCES CANDIDATES WILL NO LONGER BE JUDGED ON PHYSICAL APPEARANCE There are major changes ahead for the Miss America Organization starting this September. Going forward, Chairwoman Gretchen Carlson  says competitors will not be judged on their looks but what comes out of their mouths. In addition to eliminating the swimsuit competition, another change is that women may wear pants instead of dresses.
