buzzz worthy. . . Interacial couples have the Lovings of Virginia to thank for fighting for the rights of couples from different races to wed. Richard and Mildred Loving were arrested and treated as criminals in 1967 when they wed in Virginia, unknowingly violating a local statute that prohibited their union. They fought back and won, changing the course of history for mixed marriages in America. Their story is well documented, but will now be adapted into a major motion picture. "Loving" centers around the interracial couple who resided in Virginia in the 1950s, and the landmark 1967 Supreme Court case ‘Loving v. Virginia' that sealed their love and the love of diverse couples for generations to come. An open casting call for Loving will be held in 3 areas in Virginia starting today.
