Atlanta Women in Film to screen "Sold"

According to the FBI, Atlanta ranks as one of the top 14 cities for the commercial sexual exploitation of  children. And Atlanta’s underground sex economy has been valued at $290 million. Women in Film and Television Atlanta (WIFTA) invite the community to a special showing of the movie "Sold" followed by a panel discussion with the Director and one of the stars. Demonstrating the capability of filmmaking to impact social change, "Sold" is a full-length feature film adapted from the National Book Award Nominated and Quill Award-Winning novel by Patricia McCormick. Based on true stories, "Sold" is the story of Lakshmi's journey from a peaceful, rural village in Nepal to the gritty brothels of Kolkata, India.
