Valerie Harper joins DWTS cast

A brand new lot of celebs are ready to shake their tale feathers on season 17 of “Dancing with the Stars.” The new cast was revealed live on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 exclusively on “Good Morning America”. The competition begins with twelve new celebrities who will brave the dance floor for the very first time. Each week these celebrities will leave their comfort zones and endure hours of grueling rehearsals to master technical choreography and entertaining performances. In the end, only one star will rise above the rest to be crowned champion and win the coveted mirror-ball trophy. Actress Valerie Harper (known as Rhoda from the hit 70's sitcom "The Mary Tyler Moore Show") may be going into the experience as a fan favorite. Harper recently announced she is terminally ill with an inoperable brain tumor. Her popularity along with the popularity of several other reality stars will be a ratings booster.
