Jake Hoot wins season 17 of The Voice

Image
Jake Hoot was crowned the winner of season 17 of The Voice on Tuesday night. The big guy (he is 6’6” ya’ll) with the big voice was a one chair turn selection from team Kelly Clarkson. This is Clarkson's third win. Hoot's performances were so flawless throughout the competition that Clarkson's main advice was for him to keep doing what he was doing. The 31-year-old singer/songwriter is a native of Cookesville, TN. The top four finalists including Jake were Katie Kadan, Ricky Duran and Rose Short. The win was shocking to many voice fans who expected Katie from John Legend's team to reign victorious. Tuesday's airing delivered 8.6 million total viewers and a 1.3 demo rating, reflected a trend in declining viewership.

Kelly Clarkson wins fight with J Hud overe Voice contestant

Singing "Run to You" Voice contestant Kimberly Joye, 26 a former background vocalist for gospel artist JJ Hairston caused a catfight between ex-American Idol alums Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson on Monday night. Clarkson used her only blocking power to keep Hudson from snagging the Connecticut bred singer. The ladies were teaming this season in complete support of each other until Clarkson, who won on her first season as a judge, decided to betray the Dreamgirl. Joye chose Clarkson and said in a clip that she wanted to work with her to learn something new. Hudson, who still has blocking ability, seemed genuinely shocked and promised Clarkson payback. Blake Shelton also hit his buzzer, but stayed out of the fight.
