Grammys on the Hill 2019 in pictures

Every year musicians and artists descend upon the U.S. Capitol to advocate for music rights.  White they are in Washington, DC they honor  lawmakers and their own for their advocacy. This year, gospel's Yolanda Adams and Broadway's Kristen Chenoweth were the honored artists  They both served as performers at the event which was held at the Hamilton Hotel.  Senators Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Chuck Grassley were also recognized for their support of the Music Modernization Act, a bi-partisan effort that passed last year. Grammy winners PJ Morton and lead singer of 4 Non Blondes, Linda Perry  also performed.  Morton opened the event with a soulful rendition of the National Anthem and Perry ended with lawmakers packing the stage to rock out to "What's Going On".  She also sang  sang “Beautiful,” which she wrote for Christina Aguilera. The Awards will honor four-time GRAMMY ® -winning gospel artist Yolanda Adams for her advocacy on behalf of fellow creators and Tony- and Emmy Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth for her philanthropic contributions to the music community. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) will also be honored for their contributions to advance music creators' rights and support legislation that protects the future of music. KRISTIN CHENOWETH IS THE BEST DRESSED IN "OLD HOLLYWOOD"  AT THE OSCARS Some things in trendsetting Hollywood never get old and "Old Hollywood" glamour is one of them. The color of glamour tonight is Black and White at the Oscars.  We found Glamazons who honored the fashion code of high fashion and flair from the golden days of Hollywood.  For her first time covering the red carpet, Kelly Roland is setting the right tone in a gorgeous strapless number  (white at the top, black at the bottom.)  We are looking for ladies with style that rules the red carpet. KELLY ROLAND TO CO-HOST OSCARS® RED-CARPET SHOW

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Grammy Award-winning singer Kelly Rowland today announced that she has been invited to join Emmy ®  and Tony ®  award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth,  Entertainment Weekly  Managing Editor Jess Cagle and “Good Morning America” anchor Lara Spencer to host the official Oscar ®  pre-show, ”The Oscars Red Carpet Live.” The show is executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, producers of the Oscar telecast, and produced by Charlie Haykel and Juliane Hare for Don Mischer Productions. “The Oscars Red Carpet Live” will take place on Oscar Sunday, February 24, in front of the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and be televised live on the ABC Television Network beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.  The red carpet show will also be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide.   For more information go to Oscar.com or download the official Oscars app.
