Gospel singer Emily Harris passed away on Friday (December 23, 2011)  in Nashville, TN.  Harris is most well known for being a member of the New Life Singers and the Nashville Super Choir headed by Dr. Bobby Jones.  A member of the group since its inception, both her smile and signature golden tresses were like literal rays of sunshine, brightly radaiating the stage every Sunday morning for the last 30 year on BET's Bobby Jones Gospel Show.  Harris, a tenor,  was hard to miss as she was always on the front row singing with all her heart. The legendary R&B group, The Whispers, are making their first appearance on Black Entertainment Television’s (BET) “Bobby Jones Gospel” program on Sunday, January 24, 2010 @ 9 AM. They will perform songs from their first gospel/inspirational CD, Thankful (Kingdom Records). The Top 10 CD has been winning over gospel and Urban AC radio programmers. Michael Tee at WXST in Charleston says, “It’s Gospel meets Quiet Storm” while Skip Dillard at New York’s WBLS says, “[For Thou Art With Me] is a really nice song.
