CDC is monitoring heart inflammation in younger recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine

CDC IS KEEPING AN EYE ON HEART INFLAMMATION FROM COVID-19 SHOTS IN YOUNG PEOPLE The CDC is closely monitoring reports of heart inflammation in adolescents and young adults following the mRNA COVID-19 vaccination. Since April reports to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System or VAERS - indicated an increase of cases of inflammation of the heart—called myocarditis and pericarditis—happening after Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna in the United States. Dr. Rochelle Walensky of the COVID-19 task Force says these cases are rare. When they do occur it is mostly in males 16 years or older after getting the second dose and symptoms typically show within several days after vaccination. The CDC continues to recommend that everyone above the age of 12 get their free shot because the alternative could be deadly.
