But Brown never made the journey to pursue a higher education because that was the day he took his final steps. was killed from a gunshot inflicted by a St. Louis police officer. Citizens in the predominately Black city of Ferguson were on edge, unable to understand what had taken place. How could an officer of the law kill an unarmed teen in cold blood in broad day light?
