With this in mind the Beautiful Project started a letter writing campaign called "Dear Black Girl" asking Black women to open up their hearts to Black girls. So I pulled out my virtual pen and wrote my prose to future generations of Black women. The official submission deadline for the campaign was on October 7, 2015. I hesitated to participate initially.
