STATEMENT FROM PRESS SECRETARY STEPHANIE GRISHAM “The White House is aware of public reports that a member of the Brazilian delegation‘s visit to Mar-a-Lago last weekend tested positive for COVID-19; confirmatory testing is pending.  Exposures from the case are being assessed, which will dictate next steps.  Both the President and Vice President had almost no interactions with the individual who tested positive and do not require being tested at this time. “As stated before, the White House Medical Unit and the United States Secret Service has been working closely with various agencies to ensure every precaution is taken to keep the First & Second Families, and all White House staff healthy. “To reiterate CDC guidelines, there is currently no indication to test patients without symptoms, and only people with prolonged close exposure to confirmed positive cases should self-quarantine. “We are monitoring the situation closely and will update everyone as we get mo...

By Mona Austin 5/3/19 It isn't every day that a Black man is recognized for education at the highest level or that he gets to shake the hand of the President of the United States in recognition of a job well done. African Americans have grappled with the harsh notion that there are more Black men in prison than the grave or in college for years and due the prison pipeline, Black boys are headed in the same direction. White there is no statistical record of this dismal narrative, it has been hammered into the heads of Black people for so long it has become an accepted belief. Rodney Robinson, the 2019 Teacher of the Year, is radiant example that not all Black men are failures and that Black teen boys can make it despite early detours in life.
