Trump answers questions about the death of George Floyd, denouncing the injustice

By Mona Austin (The Slice): In a press briefing at the White House on Friday Trump spoke out about the unrest that ensued following the death of George Floyd, a Minnesota man who was suffocated to death by a police officer placing his knee on his neck. Throughout his term in office, the president has been a person of ill repute concerning race relations, yet the nation wanted to hear directly from him.  He has tweeted and answered questions posed by reporters about it.  He spoke about the seemingly unjustified death in the at the Kennedy Space Center ahead of the Space X launch and during a round table discussion with business executives at the White House too.  However, until Monday evening appearance i the White house Rose Garden, Trump avoided making an official  statement  about the escalated racial tension in America due to Floyd's death to the dissatisfaction of many in the media and everyday citizens who wanted to hear from the leader of the nat...

Police gunned down Sterling at point blank range on Tuesday in the parking lot of Triple S Alton Sterling was shot by Baton Rouge police. Food Mart in Baton Rouge, LA. Two officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) responded to a call saying the victim was selling CDs and had brandished a gun at them. The disturbing fatality was caught on cellphone video. When two police arrive they yell, "Get on the ground!" Sterling was not immediately cooperative. A shot is fired, then one officer tackles him. The police wrestled the 37-year-old father of 5 to the ground. "You fu*cking move I swear to God!," an officer yelled while pointed the gun at Sterling's head. COMMENTARY: Michael Brown was more than just a black man

buzzz worthy. . . By Mona Austin "It's more to being a Black man than just being a Black man." Pastor Leandria Johnson Tensions came to a head in St. Louis Sunday as rioters responded to a policeman killing an unarmed black teen, 18-year-old Michael Brown.  Reports indicate this week would have been Brown's first day of college. In the above quote, Johnson prayed for a covering of protection over Black men during a concert at Bethune Cookman College in Florida earlier this year (Start at 1:41, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McOmuzTOozM). Eerily, her words seem to apply to the very event that transpired in St. Louis, but can apply to numerous news headlines involving the death or injury of individuals whose only "crime" appears to be existing while Black in America, whether they are male or female.     (Let us not forget there have also been numerous reports of Black women being the victims of police brutality recently.)
