The shooting death of Alton Sterling is Eric Garner all over again.


Police gunned down Sterling at point blank range on Tuesday in the parking lot of Triple S
Alton Sterling was shot by Baton Rouge police.
Food Mart in Baton Rouge, LA. Two officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) responded to a call saying the victim was selling CDs and had brandished a gun at them.


The disturbing fatality was caught on cellphone video. When two police arrive they yell, "Get on the ground!" Sterling was not immediately cooperative. A shot is fired, then one officer tackles him. The police wrestled the 37-year-old father of 5 to the ground. "You fu*cking move I swear to God!," an officer yelled while pointed the gun at Sterling's head. As the victim was pinned to the ground 5 more shots rang out, leaving multiple gun shot wounds in his chest and back according to the Coroner.

The voices of two women and man in the vehicle where the recording was taking place were audible in the background.

“They shot him?,” a man says in the video.

"They killed this boy?," A woman asked in disbelief.


"Oh my God!," cried the other.

BRPD released a statement in which the encounter was described as an altercation.

Black America is outraged by what they saw.

Baton Rouge residents began a protest on the scene chanting "Fu*k the police."

Store owner Abdullah Muflahi said after the confrontation, polic pulled a hand gun form Sterling's pocket, but  his hands had been nowhere near his pocket during the take down.

The death is under investigation and both officers were placed on administrative leave "per standard procedure."

OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING ON NORTH FOSTER DR
Baton Rouge Police are investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred around 12:35am this morning at 2112 North Foster Dr, Triple S Food Mart. Uniformed officers responded to a disturbance call from a complainant who stated that a black male who was selling music cd’s and wearing a red shirt threatened him with a gun.

Officers made contact with ALTON STERLING, 37, 6061 Plank Rd, in the parking lot of the business. An altercation between Sterling and the officers ensued. Sterling was shot during the altercation and died at the scene.


Two BRPD officers have been placed on administrative leave per standard procedure.
This is an ongoing investigation.
