Perry, Bieber and Swift continue reign as top celebs on Twitter in 2016

buzzz worthy. . . With 94.5 million followers, Katy Perry is the most followed celeb on Twitter once again this year, trailed by Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. The top 4 rankings did not change from 2015. The love from Perry's fandom continues to "purr" in, having crossed the 90 million mark back in July, up from 78.3 million the previous year. President Obama is in the #4 position again. Kim Kardashian is a newcomer to the list in the ninth position. Non-Americans take home major titles at the American Music Awards

buzzz worthy. . . One Direction won Favorite Artist of the Year on November 23 at the American Music Awards. Satisfying America's taste for imports, the slow, but steady musical British invasion  continued at last night's American Music Awards as Brits took home top honors.  Brit/Irish pop group One Direction ("Best Song Ever," "Story of My Life") was pronounced Artist of the Year. They beat out Beyonce, whose confluence of top secret marketing, massive video output and major appearances in connection with the 2013 release "Beyonce" was tauted as a genius branding strategy.  Once Direction also won the award for Favorite Album Pop/Rock  and Favorite Pop/Rock Duo or Group.   British singer Sam Smith ("Stay With Me")  also triumphed over gigantic competitors, beating out Pharrell and John Legend for the  Favorite Male Artist title. KATY PERRY LEADS WMA NOMINATIONS WITH 9 Nominees for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards were announced Thursday and Katy Perry, is the top artist nominated with 9.   Kanye and Adele both earned 7 nods.   Bruno Mars received 4 and Eminem, Beyonce and Lady Gaga each ereceived 3 nominations. 2011 Grammy Award Nominations Recap, Gospel Nominees & Predictions

Eminem received 10 nominations for the 53rd Grammy Awards The nominees in the top five categories for the 2011 Grammy Awards were announced on Dec. 1 in a live telecast on CBS.  LL Cool J hosted the show at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles with announcements being made by celebrity presenters. The full list of nominess in all other categories can be viewed at http://www.grammys.com/ .  Eminem tops the list with 10 Grammy nominations for the come back album, "Recovery,"  including a nod for Album of theYear. I'm hoping to see Marshall (his real name) and Rihanna rock "Love the Way You Lie" at the Grammys, which was nominated for Song of the Year. R&B's soulfully sleek El Debarge also made a valiant comeback this year, earning two Grammy nominations for " Second Chance" ( Best Male R & B Vocal Performance and Best R & B Song.)
