KATY PERRY LEADS WMA NOMINATIONS WITH 9

Nominees for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards were announced Thursday and Katy Perry, is the top artist nominated with 9.   Kanye and Adele both earned 7 nods.   Bruno Mars received 4 and Eminem, Beyonce and Lady Gaga each ereceived 3 nominations.

The show will  air live on August 28 on MTV at 9 p.m. ET.
