Donald Trump traversed decorum and protocol offering special recognition. He honored two men, one of them a complete shock -- Rush Limbaugh. The other, Gen. Charles McGee. Said the POTUS,  "Thank you for your decades of tireless devotion to our country.  Rush, in recognition of all that you have done for our Nation, the millions of people a day that you speak to and inspire, and all of the incredible work that you have done for charity I am proud to announce tonight that you will be receiving our country's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom."  Then,  First Lady Melania Trump proceeded to present the distinguished medal to Limbaugh from her guest box. T his week, President Donald J. Trump will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Roger S. Penske.  This prestigious award is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, which may be awarded by the President to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors. By Mona Austin This year, Pres. Donald Trump, himself an avid golfer, will present the Medal of Freedom to Tiger Woods. Tweeted Pres. Trump, a day after Mr. Woods won his fifth Master title: "Spoke to @TigerWoods to congratulate him on the great victory he had in yesterday’s @TheMasters, & to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!" Of the many athletes who have received the medal golfing legends Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as well as Charles Sifford, the first African-American to play on the PGA Tour included. Trump has personally shared the green with both Nicklaus and Woods. In 2018, football legend Roger Staubach received the honor along with Dr. Miriam Adelson Senator Orrin G. Hatch , and Alan C. Page.
