Harris Misses the Mark in Pitch Targeting Black Men and Black America

Image
By Mona Austin (TSN): Ordinary Black Americans were permitted to ask questions about Vice Pres. Hamala Harriss' Black Agenda (among other things) in an iHeart Radio interview with Charlamagne da God of the Breakfast Club on Tuesday. It was a concerted effort to regain support from Black men who have outgrown the habit of voting for a democrat. Here we highlight one particular exchange that shows Harris may be oblivious to the expectations of Black men specifically and struggling Black people in general. A multi-prong question from a Detroit business man further revealed that the vice president has a far-sighted vision relative to the economic rescue of level zero Black communities. She has repeatedly stated plans to build up the middle class without mentioning the depraved conditions that handicap the lower class. When asked for specifics on how she will support African Americans she repeated the story of how she had a middle class upbringing and will create opportunities for al...
FACT CHECK -- Is Kamala Harris the First Black Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris is NOT the first Black woman, woman, immigrant or WOC to become a vice presidential candidate. Several other women politicians paved the way for Harris' historic bow. In 1972, representing Brooklyn, NY, Shirley Chisholm (whose family was from the Caribbean) became the first black major-party candidate to run for POTUS. Over three decades later, Carol Mosely Braun, also Black, ran for president as a Democrat in 2004. But that was after Geraldine Ferraro was selected as Walter Mondale's VP running mate. U.S. Senator Margaret Chase Smith had previously run for the Republican presidential nomination. Also from California, Black Journalist/activist Chatlotta Bass, ran with a Progressive in 1952 -- BEFORE the Voting Rights Act was passed. Johns Hopkins historian Martha Jones told the Washington Post, "Bass helped usher the notion of a Black female candidate fully into the political m...

Background checks at gun shows are the new rule in the gun industry set forth by the DOJ

Image
PHOTO: A gun show is held at the fairgrounds in Wisconsin. SUMMARY:  In a final effort to round up all violators  gun sellers will be required to perform background checks including those who sell at gun shows and online. By Mona Austin (TSN): Gun control advocates have long pushed to close the so-called gun show loophole, and they are now praising a new Biden Administration rule that does just that. On Thursday, Vice Pres. Kamala Harris, who said she is in favor of the Second Amendment (right to bear arms) announced that all gun sellers must conduct background checks, as a result of a new rule finalized by the Department of Justice. "In the memory of all those we have lost, today, as the head of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, I am proud to announce that all gun dealers now must conduct background checks no matter where or how they sell their merchandise," said Harris, adding, " Every year, thousands of unlicensed gun dealers  sell tens of thousand...

Statement from the Vice President on the Second Anniversary of January 6, 2021

On January 6th, 2021, American democracy endured a violent assault. Armed with deadly weapons and animated by lies and hate, insurrectionists invaded the United States Capitol in an attempt to overturn a lawful election and silence the voice of the people. Because of the bravery of our law enforcement officers and the resolve of the people’s representatives, this assault on our democracy failed. In the two years since, Americans of courage and conviction—Republicans, Democrats, and independents—have come together to defend freedom, liberty, and the rule of law. In our communities and at the ballot box, they have made their voices heard. And our nation is stronger for it. As President of the Senate and as a former United States Senator, I have seen firsthand the incredible heroism of the law enforcement officers who defend our nation’s capital. Doug and I pray for the families and loved ones of the officers who lost their lives protecting our democracy: Officer Brian Sicknick, Officer G...

HARRIS AND WARNOCK RALLY FOR COVID-19 VACCINATIONS

VP Harris visited Atlanta Friday afternoon to promote Georgia residents getting Coronavirus vaccinations with local pastor Rep. Raphael Warnock, who says he is grateful for the shot because he was able to visit his 83-year-old mother. As a state, Georgia is lagging behind in vaccination rates. He said that in his role as a pastor, "I stood with families as they wept over the loss of their loves ones, and grieved even more deeply because they couldn't be with them in their last hours." "There's still work that all of us must do, because when the morning comes you still l have to get up, put shoes on and get ready for the morning. So tell everyone you know to get vaccinated... Let's do it, and we'll get through this together." Currently 45% of Georgians are fully vaccinated. #blackandvaxed

Ice Cube refuses to meet with Sen. Kamala Harris; women of FOX Soul try to hold him accountable

When making his rounds with the media to discusss the controversy over his appearing to endorse Pres. Donald Trump and his Contract With Black America, Ice Cube told multiple interviewers he would talk to anyone who would listen and support his plan. The Senator from his state (CA), Kamala Harris, who is currently Vice Pres. Biden's running mate, is apparently an exception. He declined an opportunity to participate in an Zoom call with Harris.  In an appearnce on FOX Soul he told Claudia Jordan co-host of Cockatails with Queens, when she inquired about why he did not join the call, "We had spent a lot of people's time putting the contract with Black America together, and I just thought that getting on a Zoom call with 12 other entertainers all shooting what they believe needs to be done, to me wasn't going to be productive," adding his attorney knows Harris and he had been promised a one-on-one call that did not happen. AKAs roast Wash Post reporter over tweet about them at Sen. Kamala Harris event

A White Washington Post reporter's tweet  about the sounds coming from Black sorority members at  a book event for Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) has taught her and hopefully her employer a valuable lesson -- racial sensitivity and cultural awareness matters in the workplace. Harris is a graduate of DC-based Howard University and a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (commonly known as the AKA's), the first Black sorority, which has chapters on both Black and White university campuses.  The first chapter was founded at Howard.  The sound Chelsea Janes was referring to as a screech is "Skee Wee,"  a high pitched signature call that is  distinct to the group.  She wrote that she did not expect to hear that in a tweet she has since deleted.  Janes apologized for referring the  AKA call as a screech after a frenzy of complaints about her ignorance piled up online. Let's keep  the focus on the main thing for a moment....
