Presidential Message on the 154th Anniversary of the Ratification of the 13th Amendment

Image
On this day in 1865, the United States ratified the 13th Amendment to our Constitution, abolishing slavery and setting our Nation on a path that would ensure that the blessings of liberty endowed to us by our Creator were secured for all Americans. America was founded on the conviction that “all men are created equal.”  However, it was not until nearly a century after these words were written that the law of the land reflected this fundamental truth for African Americans.  On that historic December day 154 years ago, Georgia became the 27th State to ratify the 13th Amendment, forever removing the shackles of slavery and untying the bonds of hate and oppression that had denied millions of African Americans their God-given rights of “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” Despite suffering the horrors of slavery and all that flowed from this inexcusable and cruel act against humanity, African Americans have been instrumental in building and bolstering our great Nat...

A PRAYER FOR THE NATION -- Repent from your slave past to heal

Image
A PRAYER FOR THE NATION In order to heal any disease, the root cause of the illness must be identified.  America's system of government stands in need of atonement for current and past acts of corruption.  For this I pray out of concern for the nation and my fellow man and in obedience to the Holy Spirit. . . CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE EXTENDED TMZ RANT FOR CONTEXT TO THIS ARTICLE Rapper Kanye West once stated Pres. George Bush does not care about black people and from the sound of things, neither does he. In an appearance in the TMZ newsroom on Tuesday, West said: "When you hear about slavery for 400 years that sound like a choice . . . I like the word prison because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. . ."  This statement upset TMZ producer Van Lathan to the point that he challenged West's thinking head on telling the rapper he has "morphed into something unreal." Yeezy has made a habit of being controversial at the most inappropriate times.   West made the statement about Bush, then president, in 2005 because he had not given any personal attention to Hurricane Katrina victims. He jumped on stage and interrupted Taylor Swift's VMA acceptance speech in 2009, claiming she did not deserve the video of the year award, Beyonce did. This time Wes...
