buzzz worthy. . . Christmas 2016 was the last Christmas for British Pop singer George Michael. Michael started out as one half of the group Wham! delivering such hits as "Wake Me Up Before You Go" and later enjoyed a highly successful solo career starting in 1987 where he sold millions as a solo act. He eventually confirmed rumors that he was gay. Michaels died peacefully in his home in England at the age of 53. His publicist release the following statment: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period. The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage." Thames police did not suspect foul play.
