Trump falsely claims there is an AIDS vaccine, lies about Obama's record on ploice reform
FACT CHECK: Pres. Trump made two false claims in his presser before signing an executive order on police reform at the White House on Tuesday and they are "huge." 1. In addressing progress on the development of a vaccine for the Coronavirus, he said there is a vaccine for AIDS. FALSE- there is not a vaccine or cure for AIDS. "These are the people, the best, the smartest, the most brilliant anywhere, and they’ve come up with the AIDS vaccine. They've come up with — or the AIDS, and, as you know, there's various things and now various companies involved. But the therapeutic for AIDS." He seemed to be trying to correct himself by saying "therapeutic" at the end of the remark. There are treatments, but NO VACCINE.
