RCA INSPIRATION CELEBRATES TWO NOMINATIONS FOR 64TH GRAMMY® AWARDS

Nashville, TN (November 23, 2021) – RCA Inspiration celebrates two nominations for the 64th GRAMMY® Awards, with nominations for artists in both Gospel and the Contemporary Christian Music categories. Nominated in the Best Gospel Album category is Mali Music (K Approved Enterprises/RCA Inspiration) as a co-performer on the Jonathan McReynolds & Mali Music collaboration album Jonny x Mali: Live in LA. Their EP project of live performances was released in September 2021, in partnership between Mali’s imprint K Approved Enterprises, RCA Inspiration, Jonathan’s Life Room Label and eOne Music (now named MNRK Music Group). Separately, Kirk Franklin (Fo Yo Soul/RCA) received a nomination in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song category, as a co-performer on the Lil Baby x Kirk Franklin track “We Win.” Released in May 2021, the song was featured on the Space Jam: A New Legacy Official Soundtrack, which was released by Republic Records and Warner Bros. Franklin inspires children in poverty through months of virtual mentoring   COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Grammy-winning music artist Kirk Franklin has teamed up with Compassion International to re-release his single, “ Lean on Me ,” featuring the voices of youth living in poverty around the world.    For the past several months, Franklin has been working with youth from all 25 countries in Compassion’s child development program. Through virtual auditions and rehearsals, the Compassion Youth Choir, made up of more than 120 youth, ages 11-19, worked with the artist to record the song, which was originally released in 1998.    After a trip to the Dominican Republic with Compassion in early 2020, Franklin felt called by God to use his talents, platform, and personal story to inspire youth around the world to pursue their own giftings.    In late 2020, Compassion sent out a call to youth in its field countries , where the ministry serves children in poverty,...

Epic Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, have released the second wave of expanded digital editions of essential titles in The Jacksons catalog:  Triumph  (1980),  Victory  (1984), and  2300  Jackson Street  (1989).  In addition to The Jacksons X MLK remix released on  March 19 , the Triumph re-release includes two additional new remixes of The Jacksons' "Can You Feel It":  The Kirk Franklin Remix and The Island Remix featuring  David Sanborn . "These albums were released at a defining time in our career, and we thank Sony Music for recognizing the legacy of this music and our historic relationship with the label," said Jackie,  Marlon and Tito Jackson . Photo by Mona Austin By Mona Austin (The Slice): Gospel music icon Kirk Franklin is protesting the Gospel Music Association, producers of the Dove Awards and their broadcasting partner the Trinity  Broadcasting Network (TBN). In a video posted on Facebook, the artist explained "history has repeated itself" with a recurrence of his comments being edited out of the Dove Awards telecast. "Today I feel like quitting, I am heart-broken that I even have to share this with you," he starts the video saying. Franklin's sentiment reflects the micro-aggressive behaviors in business and society that  bring to light what many Africans-Americans perceive as blatant discrimination decades beyond the Civil Rights Era.
