Internationally known music genius, founder and former band leader of Earth, Wind and Fire Maurice White passed away Wednesday (Feb. 3) at the age of 74. His brother and fellow group member Verdine White told the Associated Press he passed away while asleep in his Los Angels home. The Memphis, TN native started his career as a session drummer and went on to forge the sound of one of the most critically acclaimed bands in history. White was the front man on a torrent of classic hits throughout the 70s and 80s such as the soulful romantic rhapsodies "Loves Holiday" and "Can't Hide Love."
