buzzz worthy. . . The funeral service of Alton Sterling, the unarmed Baton Rouge man who was gunned down by police, will be held on Friday, July 15 on the campus of Southern University. Beginning at 11 A.M., the service is open to the public and will be held at the F.G. Clark Activity Center. Visitation is scheduled for 8-10:30 a.m. Police responded to a call that said Sterling, who was selling CDs out of his trunk utside of a convenience store, had brandished a gun. For more than a week following Sterling's death, protests have taken place throughout the city. Outrage over his death, which was viewed by millions from a cell phone video, reached a fever pitch nationally.
