The 2018 Golden Globe nominations were announced Thursday morning. Two African American films directed by Blacks, Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther" and Spike Lee's "BlacKKKlansman" are in the run for Best Picture. Lee also is among the Best Director nominees and Panther, the top-grossing film at $1.3 billion is also nominated for Best Original Song and Best Original score for a total of three. The film about a prosperous hidden African world earned Marvel Studios its first Golden Globe nod. A cable network -- FX-- is leading the swath of contenders for the first time, with show like "Atlanta," "Pose" and "The Americans" being nominated. Music related movies apparently did well in 2018.
