From the bowels of slave ships, to the fields of the Carolinas to muddy Mississippi River, the music of African Americans has always been a a part of Black life and has been embraced throughout the world. In consideration of the vast musical contributions of African Americans and global impact of Black music, there are not enough days in one month to justly celebrate it.
