John Stewart slams Congressional leaders on lack of attention for 911 first responders

It was difficult for John  Stewart to hold his tongue or tears when speaking to Congress about the needs of 911 first responders and their families.  “I can’t help but think what an incredible metaphor this room is… a filled room of 9/11 first responders and in front of me, a nearly empty Congress. Sick and dying, they brought themselves down here to speak to no one… shameful." In a plea to help surviving 911 first responders and their families, former Daily Show host Jon Stewart emotionally chided lawmakers Tuesday (June 11) at a House Judiciary subcommit tee hearing to extend funding for the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. "Your indifference cost these men and women their most valuable commodity," said Stewart, further stating the lack of attention form Congress is shameful and that the victims have been forgotten. Pres. Trump letter to Congress on the Death of George Herbert Walker Bush

December 3, 2018 TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES:      By this Message, I officially inform you of the death of George Herbert Walker Bush, the forty-first President of the United States.      President George H.W. Bush led a life that exemplified what is truly great about America.  As with so many of his generation, the Greatest Generation, President Bush worked selflessly throughout his long life to bring about a world of justice and lasting peace.  With his passing, we mark one of the last pages of a defining chapter in American history.      Much of George H.W. THE STAKES ARE ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH FOR THE 2018 MIDTERMS

"Everything matters and everything's at stake," Stephanie Schriock, President of Emily's List a group that spent  $60 million in support of Democratic women said. On the eve of midterm elections, a divided nation is preparing to vote in states races unlike any others they have seen before.  The poll results from tomorrow, Nov. 6th could change the way t that not only states, but also the nation is governed for years to come. What is at stake are 435 U.S. House seats, nearly 40 governors seats, 35 Senate seats and although he is not on the ballot -- essentially the Trump presidency itself. Should Democrats gain Congressional control they will likely make good on impeaching Pres. Trump or investigating his scandal ridden journey to the White House.  If not the nation will be subject to his unconventional leadership style possibly for a second term. In Trump's favor is a growing economy that outpaces the last 3 presidents.  On the c...
