FULL TRANSCRIPT: Trump addresses George Floyd death, sends National Guard to protest sites
(T he Slice): On Monday evening Pres. Donald Trump delivered an unannounced statement from the White House Rose Garden following days of both peaceful and violent rioting around the nation in retaliation to the officer-involved death of George Floyd. "For George and his family, justice will be served. He will not have died in vain." Trump had been criticized for not formally addressing the incident involving yet another white policeman using excessive force against a cooperative black person. Many people see the death of George Floyd as a turning point for racial inequality in America and are protesting to see the end to racial injustices come to fruition.
