White evangelicals have Trump's back, choosing him as GOP frontrunner at Christian conservative summit
The "Pray Vote Stand" summit hosted by the Family Research Council (FRC) was held in Washington, DC on Saturday giving a glimpse into the voting tendencies of WASP voters. Both presidential rivals Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump attended the gathering that targets conservative evangelicals. Vivek Ramaswamy was also slated to attend. In a straw poll, Trump garnered 63.9% of the vote. Desantis received just over 20 percent with the remaining candidates barely attracting interest polling at or below 2 percent. A recent Wall Street Journal survey found Trump is the preferred candidate of 59 percent of Republican voters, with DeSantis in a widely distant second place at 13 percent. In between praise and worship-like sessions, speakers spoke to convince the faith-based voters that there is no other choice but to re-elect a Republican.
