White evangelicals have Trump's back, choosing him as GOP frontrunner at Christian conservative summit

The "Pray Vote Stand" summit hosted by the Family Research Council (FRC) was held in Washington, DC on Saturday giving a glimpse into the voting tendencies of WASP voters. Both presidential rivals Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump attended the gathering that targets conservative evangelicals. Vivek Ramaswamy was also slated to attend. In a straw poll, Trump garnered 63.9% of the vote. Desantis received just over 20 percent with the remaining candidates barely attracting interest polling at or below 2 percent. A recent Wall Street Journal survey found Trump is the preferred candidate of 59 percent of Republican voters, with DeSantis in a widely distant second place at 13 percent.
In between praise and worship-like sessions, speakers spoke to convince the faith-based voters that there is no other choice but to re-elect a Republican.
The die-hard Christian support for Donald Trump on the part of the far right speaks volumes about the status of Christianity in America. "Trumpublicans" have "forgiven" or ignored several of Trump' moral failures including his being indicted for hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. He was married to Melania Trump at the time of his alleged affair with the porn star. When the news frit broke about the scandal, Melania said the allegations were "not a concern and focus of mine." The Republican party was previously associated with family values. Loyalty to Trump appears to be a detachment from not only family values, but core Christian principles.

Alabama Pastor Shot and Killed in Domestic Incident

Pastor Da’Quarius Green , a 31-year-old leader of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama, was shot on Dec. 23, 2025 and died several days later in the hospital after a domestic dispute at his home in Level Plains . Authorities have described the shooting as a “domestic incident” involving his wife,  𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐲. Local news station WTVY reported "c ourt records show that Green was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges 3 times in Houston County last year, with each of those cases dismissed. Also in 2024, a woman filed a protection order against Green in Houston County in which she believed him to be a danger," but did not confirm Mrs. Massey as the suspect.    Various reports indicate the couple's children were present when he was shot in the head.   In one instance, a woman who shared children with Green alleged that he repeatedly struck her , including once when she was pregnant.
