RIP: The NBA has announced the death of Washington basketball legend Dikembe Mutombo, who started his career playing Center fir the Georgetown Hoyas. He played professionally for the New Jersey Nets and Atlanta Hawks and retired after 18 seasons. Standing at7 ft. 2 inches he was regarded as one of the greatest shot blockers and defensive players of all time, winning the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times. The Congolese American died of brain cancer at the age of 58. NBA Commissioner Silver announced the news on X Monday morning saying he was the first Global Ambassador and perfect for the job.
