He is charged with 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter, 2 counts of second degree murder and 8 counts of cruelty to children. In Georgia, second-degree murder means that a person has caused the death of another person. Colt Gray has been charged as an adult with 4 counts of felony murder. It’s the second nationally known case in which prosecutors are holding parents accountable for their child’s actions and for having prior knowledge of their access to a weapon. In April, Michigan parents Jennifer and James Crumbley were the first parents to convicted and sentenced to at least 10 years in prison for not securing a firearm at home.
