Manafort and Cohen lies shake up Mueller investigation as it nears a close

The special counsel office said they would tear up Paul Manafort's (Trump's former Campaign Chairman) cooperation agreement after determining he lied to the FBI numerous times. This shift suggests Manafort is hiding something to protect the president in hopes of being pardoned by Trump in the future. The probe has been on-going for two years and sources say it is nearly over, but this development may be significant in drawing the conclusion that Trump was also dishonest about his dealings with the Communist nation. By Thursday of the same week, it was reported that Michael Cohen, Trump's ex-attorney told a federal judge he lied to at the time to avoid "contradicting the president's messaging."
