TUNE IN ALERT: The Salt-N-Pepa biopic is here (WATCH THE TRAILER)

Oooh, baby baby! The Lifetime Network is kicking of 2021 with the  January 23 premiere of the highly anticipated biopic of the empresses of Hip Hop, Salt-N-Pepa.  It is the story of how two besties and their side-kick became the first platinum selling female rap group in hisotry.  The three-hour saga stars GG Townson as Cheryl “Salt" James, Laila Odom as Sandra “Pepa” Denton, and Monique Paul as Deidra “ DJ Spinderella ” Roper.  Airing at 8 PM ET/PT the movie will be  followed by the documentary  Salt - N - Pepa  Interview Special, hosted by Emmy® and NAACP award winning, Loni Love (The Real, CafĂ© Mocha, Bridezillas).  About the Movie Salt-N-Pepa  details the journey of Queensborough Community College students Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton as they enter the world of rap and hip hop, after recording a song for their friend Hurby Azor. TUNE-IN ALERT: The 40th Anniversary of 'A Capitol Fourth' to air on schedule this Independence Day

PBS will bring all star entertainment to the nation this July 4th. in a different format.  For the 40th anniversary of the Capitol Fourth, performances were pre-recorded out of caution over the spread of the Coronavirus.  Fireworks will be broadcast live, however.   Organizers say the event will be just as special as ever, but will reflect on the unprecedented moment we are experiencing as a nation. Said Executive Producer Michael Colbert in a statement.  “This year, our broadcast will reflect what we as a country have faced and the challenges ahead, while showcasing our message of inclusion, patriotism and love.”  The 90-minute production will be co-hosted by John Stamos and Vanessa Williams.   Performers from various musical genres include Patti Labelle, Trce Adkins, The Temptations, Renee Fleing, Yolanda Adams and more.  Tune in tonight for a spectacular display of patriotism at 8/7/ central on PBS.

ATLANTA, January 17, 2017 -Broadcast Music, Inc. ® (BMI®)  celebrated the best and brightest in gospel music Saturday night during its 18th annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Honors  at the Rialto Center for the Arts in Atlanta, GA. The night paid tribute to iconic gospel singer-songwriter  Marvin Sapp  and was hosted for the second consecutive year by previous Trailblazer recipient and renowned gospel singer-songwriter  Yolanda Adams  along with gospel singer-songwriter  VaShawn Mitchell . The inspirational event will premiere on  TV One  on  Sunday, January 29 at 7 PM ET  with an encore at  9 PM ET . The invitation-only event featured the most promising young stars and iconic figures in gospel music today.
