Joe Biden accepts Democratic Nomination - Full Transcript

For Joe Biden, a son of Delaware who has been in politics for over 40 years, it was a night like no other.  At the age of 74 on August 20, 2020, he became the oldest person to accept the Democratic nomination fo president , the oldest to ever run.  Thrice before he had attempted to run for president, failing to go the distance in the Democratic primaries. Amid a crowded field of competitors this time too he lagged behind until SC representative James Clyburn endorsed him, giving him an essential boost that turned his campaign completely around. Biden used light versus baroness as a metaphor in his speech, building hope and optimism for a future with a leader for all of America, a contrast to his opponent, incumbent president Donald Trump.  Afternthe acceptance speeh Biden joined his running mate Kamala Harris and her husband with his wife Jill. Ukraine Call Memo Could Be September Surprise By Mona Austin Today  incriminating notes from Pres. Donald Trump's call suggesting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky investigate the business dealings of Hunter Biden were made public. The White House referred to the conversation from July 25, 2019 as a "declassified, unredacted transcript." The document is  not a verbatim transcript, as noted in a fine print "CAUTION" section at the bottom of the first page, which leaves some questioning the validity of the document. It is a summarized memo intended to give insight into what was said that led to a whisleblower complaint from an unidentified CIA Agent who was acting based on second hand information.  Pres. buzzz worthy. . . Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, Members of Congress, my fellow Americans: Tonight marks the eighth year I’ve come here to report on the State of the Union. And for this final one, I’m going to try to make it shorter. I know some of you are antsy to get back to Iowa. I also understand that because it’s an election season, expectations for what we’ll achieve this year are low. Still, Mr. Speaker, I appreciate the constructive approach you and the other leaders took at the end of last year to pass a budget and make tax cuts permanent for working families. So I hope we can work together this year on bipartisan priorities like criminal justice reform, and helping people who are battling prescription drug abuse. We just might surprise the cynics again.
