Others in the room couldn't help but shed a few tears when First Lady Michelle Obama got choked up delivering her final official message at the White House today in honor of the School Counselor of the Year. FLOTUS started the recognition ceremony five years ago and linked it to her Reach Higher education initiative in 2014. The 2017 School Counselor of the Year, is Terri Tchorzynski of Michigan who went beyond the call of duty to assist students with college readiness at the Calhoun Center in Michigan. Higher Education and fitness are the legacies of Michelle Obama. Naturally the speech was about young people and the future and it rang with optimism.
