The United States Mexico Canada Agreement passed the Senate on Thursday, 89-10, replacing the 26-year-old North American Free Trade Agreement.  The agreement is expected to generate more manufacturing jobs for American workers. The White House released the following statement from Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham  praising the deal. WASHINGTON - "Following a monumental signing of the Phase One Trade Agreement with China, President Donald J. Trump has delivered another trade win for American workers with the Senate’s passage of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The trade agreement, which has now been approved by both chambers of Congress with unprecedented bipartisan support, 89-10 in the Senate and 385-41 in the House, will replace the job-killing, huge failure NAFTA – fulfilling a core promise the President made to the American people. Press statement: White House reaction to Trump impeachment

Statement from the Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham Dec. 18, 2019,  Today marks the culmination in the House of one of the most shameful political episodes in the history of our Nation.  Without receiving a single Republican vote, and without providing any proof of wrongdoing, Democrats pushed illegitimate articles of impeachment against the President through the House of Representatives.  Democrats have chosen to proceed on this partisan basis in spite of the fact that the President did absolutely nothing wrong.  Indeed, weeks of hearings have proved that he did nothing wrong.   Throughout the House Democrats’ entire sham impeachment, the President was denied fundamental fairness and due process under the law.  The House blatantly ignored precedent and conducted the inquiry in secrecy behind closed doors so that Chairman Adam Schiff and his partisan political cronies could selectively leak information to their partners in the media to push a false ...

Press Secretary statement on House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearing

Statement from the Press Secretary At this morning’s press conference, Speaker Nancy Pelosi could have finally announced a vote on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement that would immediately help America’s farmers, ranchers, businesses, and workers; or outlined a plan to work with the President to lower prescription drug prices; or addressed our Nation’s infrastructure. Instead, Speaker Pelosi did exactly what she always does – ignore the needs of the American people and advance her selfish political desires.  Democrats’ sham impeachment is a blatant, purely partisan attempt to overturn the results of a free and fair election.  By their own admission, Democrats say they have to “impeach the President” because they cannot defeat him at the ballot box.  Democrats in Congress have clearly abused their power. Democrats in Congress have lied to the American people. Democrats in Congress have made a mockery of the law. How many Democrats will join her driving right off ...

Press Secretary Statement of U.S. removal from Syria

Statement from the Press Secretary Today, President Donald J. Trump spoke with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey by telephone. Turkey will soon be moving forward with its long-planned operation into Northern Syria. The United States Armed Forces will not support or be involved in the operation, and United States forces, having defeated the ISIS territorial “Caliphate,” will no longer be in the immediate area. The United States Government has pressed France, Germany, and other European nations, from which many captured ISIS fighters came, to take them back, but they did not want them and refused. The United States will not hold them for what could be many years and great cost to the United States taxpayer. Turkey will now be responsible for all ISIS fighters in the area captured over the past two years in the wake of the defeat of the territorial “Caliphate” by the United States.
