buzzz worthy. . . On Monday the White House announced Pres. Donald Trump has nominated Elaine Duke, former undersecretary of management at the Department of Homeland Security as the Deputy Director. Duke served as an undersecretary under both presidents George W. Bush and Obama and can bring nearly 30 years of experience to the role. The position deals with managing multi-million dollar budgets and procurement for the agency. Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly said in a statement he supports Trump's selection: "I could not be more pleased by the president’s announcement. Elaine is a true public servant. Her unparalleled knowledge of the Department coupled with the overwhelmingly positive response I receive from everyone who hears her name prove she is the right person for the job. I look forward to working with her to fulfill the Department’s critical mission of protecting the homeland."
