Congresswoman Maxine Waters was honored with the Chairman's Awards at the  50th NAACP Image Awards on March 30, 2019 in Los Angeles, CA. Have you ever n oticed the  amount and variety  of categories, programs, works and people on the NAACP Image Awards? Think about how much of this  content you did not hear about on the award shows that proceeded this one.  The NAACP has embraced diversity and inclusion long before it was in the forefront of the workplace.   There is a plethora of brilliant work that would go unnoticed were it not for the NAACP Image Awards not only acknowledging,  but honoring it.  For 50 years they have put Black excellence on display for he world to behold and appreciate. After tonight, the question, "Why is there a Black award show when there isn't a White award show?" should never be asked again.
