BACKGROUND: The office of the First Lady of the United State Dr. Jill Biden has planned a State Dinner gala for the first family of Kenya. This is the sixth state dinner of the Biden Administration and comes a month after the state dinner of Japan.  The significance of inviting Pres. William Ruto of Kenya to be their guest at the White House for a State Dinner aside from bolstering U.S.- Nairobi relations, is that it is the first time an African nation has had the honor in 20 years.  The reasons Kenya was chosen include that they are a democracy, have supported the U.S. in counter-terrorism efforts, to further articulate geo-political positioning and perhaps to  show  Pres. T he First Lady received the official 2022 White House Christmas Tree at the White House on Nov. 21, an   18 and a half foot Concolor Fir from Evergreen Acres Christmas Tree Farm in Auburn, Pa.  The tree was pulled by horses named Ben and Winston, who her  2-year-old grandson Beau, accompanying her at the tree's arrival was eager to pet . The First Lady welcomed the tree along with fellow National Guard and Army mom, Mrs. Kelly Hokanson, the spouse of the Chief of the National Guard Bureau General, Daniel Hokanson. The tree was selected through a contest won   by the Shealer Family of Evergreen Acres Christmas Tree Farm in Auburn, Pennsylvania, the 2022 Grand Champion Grower in the National Christmas Tree Association’s annual contest. We are a little late posting this but wanted to keep a record of the message from Pres. Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden during their first Christmas in office, concluding a difficult year.  The Frist Couple is connected with Americans in various ways this holiday season.  The White House remained festive with staff parties and beautiful decor despite the Coronavirus pandemic.  Together the Bidens visited the DC Children's hospital to spread cheer. This was reportedly the first time a sitting president visited for Christ.  FLOTUS Jill attended he annual Toys-for-Tots and they both participated in the NORAD Santa tracker call with military families.
