Grammy winner to perform in a rare limited engagement on the day before Mother's Day

George Washington University will present critically acclaimed balladeer BeBe Winans at Lisner Auditorium on Saturday, May 11, the day before Mother's Day. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. Winans will review
over two decades of Gospel, R&B and Soul infused inspirational songs for one night only.

The 50-year-old, who keeps the schedule of a newborn (he said he rises at 4 a.m. and is asleep by the time the sun goes down) chuckled about making an exception for his DC fans, "I'm staying up pass my bedtime."
BeBe Winans is the youngest son in the Winans family. The Winans family is to gospel music what the Jacksons are to pop. The entire family has recorded music professionally. "The Winans," a quartet of all the
boys in the family (but BeBe), became one of the most celebrated groups in gospel music. BeBe was their driver before he and his twin sister branched out and became a noted cross-over favorite. Their hit-making career was recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

But in DC,the audience will have the rare opportunity to experience BeBe as a solo act.

With a voice made of velvet and steel, the Detroit bred artist will deliver selections from his repertoire as
well as from the BeBe and CeCe catalog. Concert-goers could hear a blend of his very own “In Harm’s Way”,
the duo’s Grammy- winning “Addictive Love,” or a pick from his latest album en homage to our nation
called “America, America.” The seasoned performer says guest can count on enjoying the show.

"I have learned to just have a good time. I am excited to have an evening of something I have not done in a
while, so" says Winans, "If you come out you're going to have a good time."

Ticket prices are $35-$45 and can be purchased online. The concert will be hosted by Patrick Ellis of
"Morning Glory" airing on 96.3 FM, WHUR.
