On Tuesday, July 12, President Barack Obama,  will travel to Dallas, Texas to deliver remarks at an interfaith memorial service at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center with the families of the fallen police officers and members of the Dallas community. First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden will accompany their spouses.  The White House said the Obamas and Bidens will also  visit the victims' families.

President and Mrs. George W. Bush will also attend, and President Bush will deliver brief remarks.

Obama cut his first trip to Spain short in reply to the invitation from Dallas Mayor Rawlings. Critics has condemned Obama for not visiting Baton Rouge or the St. Paul Minnesota area following the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castille, respectively.

While still in Spain on Sunday, Obama spoke out about the police targeted attack stating that those who attack police officers are doing a  "disservice to the cause" of criminal justice reform.

Five officers were slain in the line of duty and two more were injured last Thursday when a gunman opened fire during a peaceful protest, likely a retaliatory response to the back-to-back police shootings of unarmed black men around the nation.
