SUMMARY

-The lack of unity on how to enforce immigration policies between Democrats and Republicans may have stirred a migrant rebellion according to a report coming out of Denver. . .

VIA TWITTER:

"Protestors on @ICEgov property just pulled down the American flag and replaced it with the Mexican flag. The group by the doors is growing. Though most protestors are still on the street."

-This action shows some Mexican immigrants have other agendas than escaping oppression in their homeland and becoming American citizens.

-Rejecting America and its flag is nothing new in places like California where  La Raza, a radical groups of Hispanics and Chicanos  have fought for open borders based on the belief that the United States of America stole territory from Mexico.
THE STORY

The true motives of some Latin immigrants were exposed when a group of alleged migrants replaced the American flag with Mexico's flag at an ICE facility in Aurora, CO in protest of ICE raids that were planned in 10 cities around the country, including Denver.  They also spray painted graffiti on a Blue Lives Matter flag.

Why would persons seeking the path to citizenship remove the flag of the nation they want to rescue them and replace it with the flag of a nation that they claim has caused them harm?  Such an incident may reveal an ulterior motive. On the other hand, many of those gathered came with the intent to protest raids peaeffully. Negative actors disrupted the goals of peaceful protestors on the scene reports the Denver Post

BACKGROUND There is a history of disrespect toward the U.S. flag and its government from a radical faction of the Chicano/Hispanic group "La Raza" (NATIONAL COUNCIL DE LA RAZA civil rights organization) and other Latin activist groups. La Raza has led the fight for open borders in California for years. American flags have been burned during their marches as flags from other countries were waved with pride. While the group in Aurora was not tied to La Raza, their efforts reflect the same spirit.  Feverish protests over the years have promoted the narrative that the United States robbed Mexico of land, which has caused Conservatives like Pres. Donald Trump to  use the term "invasion" to describe some immigrants seeking asylum in the United States.   They believe Mexico owns a portion of the Southwest and West in the United States, acquired through the Mexican American War. For years  activists aligning with the Reconquista (reconquest) Movement under the auspices of "immigration reform" have pushed the narrative that America owes them something, which rings of racism.

Before the protests. . .

Pres. Trump had announced on Thursday there would be an ICE raid today to deport some 2,000 criminals.  This is a small amount compared to the or 12 million+ undocumented immigrants (Department of Homeland Security 2015 report.)

At her weekly press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave advice to immigrants on how to avoid being arrested.

“An ICE deportation warrant is not the same as a search warrant. If that is the only document ICE brings to a home raid, agents do not have the legal right to enter a home. If ICE agents don’t have a warrant signed by a judge, a person may refuse to open the door and let them in.” said Pelosi.

All of this fervor comes from a border crisis coming to a head and the allegiance issues is but a facet to a very complex matter and certainly relevant to the on-going immigration narrative.

The president has called on the Congress to act on the situation at the border.  There is a breach within the Democratic Caucus on how to handle the crisis and Republicans are saying Republicans are making matters worse.

Congress recently passed a budget to help with the living conditions at the border, but help is apparently still on the way as reporters and politicians visiting the area last week still describe mainly poor conditions.

During a visit to a migrant detention center at the border Vice Pres. Pence insisted to CNN that the raid would only target those who had previous warrants for their arrest.  When asked if children would be affected multiple times he avoided answering the question.

Some ICE agents refused to conduct raids to prevent children from losing their parents and being "traumatized," a word Pelosi used to protect them.  Some critics feel Pelosi's outward display of protection posed a double standard on how the law is carried out for citizens and non-citizens, noting she over-extended her role in telling immigrants how not to get arrested.

Including Denver, raids were planned to happen in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York and San Francisco. Raids were cancelled in New Orleans, due to  tropical storm Barry.
