'PICTURES: Candy land,' traveling train and Santa's reindeer beam in lively White House Christmas decor

Holiday decor at the White House stirs the Christmas spirit in Washington and the nation. From the moment the Christmas tree is delivered on a horse-drawn carriage to the big reveal during the week after Thanksgiving, the unveiling of the finished product is a highly anticipated event. While thousands of guests and tourists will visit 1600 Penn to view how decorators interpreted a theme chosen by the FLOTUS, many people will be able to enjoy the wonder via the White House website and news.

In-person tours will be conducted through December 23.

The Slice News has an opportunity to preview the decked halls and here are some of our highlights.
