BREAKING: Trump Sentencing Date Postponed Until After November presidential election

By Mona Austin

(TSN): Judge delays sentencing for Trump's Hush Money case until after the election saying it would not be fair to the public or the candidate. Judge Juan Merchan has rescheduled sentencing from September 18 to November 26, acquiescing to the Supreme Court's presidential immunity ruling and Trump's attorney's argument that the sentencing would amount to election interference. In his 4-page explanation Merchan from the Manhattan Court  said he did not want to create a disadvantage or give an advantage to either party

“The Court is a fair, impartial, and apolitical institution,” Merchan wrote. “Adjourning decision on the motion and sentencing, if such is required, should dispel any suggestion that the Court will have issued any decision or imposed sentence either to give an advantage to, or to create a disadvantage for, any political party and/or any candidate for any office.”

Trump was found guilty of paying off porn star Stormy Daniels to keep theor sexual encounter a secret as he ran for office.  He denied having the affair.

But, this decision has in effect given Donald Trump an leg up over normal citizens. Unlike other known convicted felons he has been given the opportunity to continue to run for president and technically does not even have the right to vote.

Ultimately, Trump's team is attempting to get the case tossed out, submitting a motion asking the judge to vacate the verdict.

The judge acknowledged the historic and unprecedented nature of the situation.

"Given the unique facts and circumstances of this case, there is no rcason why this Defendant should be treated any drfferendy than any othcr. 'fhis is not a decision this Court makes lightly but it is the decision which rn this Coutt's view, best advances the interests of justice," he wrote.

A sentencing is forthcoming between election day and the inauguration, which means Trump's ability to lead, should he win, could be impacted by the decision.
