IN NORTH CAROLINA VICE PRES. HARRIS INTROS HER ECONOMIC PLAN TO CURB RISING COSTS IN AN "OPPORTUNITY ECONOMY", INCLUDING HIGH GROCERIES BAN NATIONWIDE

(TSN): Vice President Kamala Harris in Raleigh, North Carolina introduced the idea of a federal ban on price gouging for groceries as a component of her economic agenda. She rolled out the strategy on how she plans to help working families save money in the Tar Hill state and nationwide. The easier- said-than-done ambition is in response to rising food costs that have dampened consumer confidence in the economy.

But markets are innately dictated and controlled by the functions of supply and demand, not government mandates. The U.S. operates on a free enterprise system where owners have a right to set prices for commodities. The notion of gouging is subjective mostly. So, it may take some time to sell this proposed solution on controlling pricing.

Harris told the audience of supporters that she fought against corporate greed as the Attorney General of California. She supports the Price Gouging Prevention Act introduced by Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania. It fights against corporations that take advantage of consumers through "greedflation," which occurs when companies retain unjustifiably excessive prices that are not market driven. This legislation would not only ban price gouging but would grant the FTC and state attorneys general the authority to enforce the law according to a press release from Casey's office.

Governor Roy Moore, a well-respected democrat was in the running to be Harris' running mate. Fighting to flip the state to blue, this was Harris' eighth visit to the Raleigh area.

Illustrating a contrast to her agenda to save the middle class she said Trump wants to impose a national sales tax on essential items like food, clothing, gas and medicine.

The earned income tax credit and the child tax credit will return under a Harris Administration she said, while expanding it. Trump had cut FHA housing insurance subsidies that were offered under Pres. Barack Obama and has not outlined a plan to address the high mortgage rates at are impeding home ownership.

In the first year of a child's life the government will provide a $6000 credit.

"If you wanna know who someone cares about, look who they fight for." She claimed Trump fights for the wealthy exclaining, "I will fight to give money back to working class Americans."

As as as laying out her economic agend the democrativ conIn her conclusion she attacked Trump's vist to North Carolina two days earlier. Equally vested in securing the votes of North Carolinianshe held a press conference was due to address the economy but Harris said he has did not talk about any plans because he has none. Trump won the state of North Carolina by 173,000 in 2020. The democratic party is
