Brooklyn Subway shooter arrested

Frank James, 62, was arrested without incident by patrol officers in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, officials said. James tipped police off as to his wehre about amid a manhunt that was called for nationally during an NYPD press conference. The arrest stemmed from James shooting 10 people and 16 getting injured.

James, 62 was charged with a federal terrorism offense after the suspect himself called police to come get him, law enforcement officials said.
He was taken into custody about 30 hours after the carnage on a rush-hour train, which left five victims in critical condition and people around the city on edge.

“My fellow New Yorkers, we got him,” said Mayor Eric Adams, who has not attended press conferneces in eprson since he is recovering form COVID-19.

He is being held without bail and did not state a plea in his frist court appearance, leaving his motive unknown.

Federal/State clash over immigration

Texas governor Greg Abott (Republican) delivered on his promise to send migrants to Washington this week and has caused a back up for truckers at the border. The federal-state dispute over U.S. immigration policy heated up on Wednesday, as the White House lambasted Abott for state truck inspections that jammed truck traffic from Mexico, while Texas chartered a bus to carry migrants from the border to Washington.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki slammed Abbott saying his actions are disrupting trade, clogging the supply chain and leading to higher prices.

Patrick Lyoya slain by Michigan police officer

A Grand Rapids Michchgan police officer is on paid administrative leave after shooting a blakc man in the back of the head following a trafic stop. A 26-year-old, Patrick Lyoya fled on foot and struggled with the officer before the fatal shot that was recorded by a passengetr in Lyoyas vehicle. The police chief released the footage provokig outrage nationally. Representing the family, attorney Ben Crump is calling for the officer, a 7 year vetran to be charged.

VP Harris applauds union workers in Philadelphia

Vice President Kamala Harris praised unions in Philadelphia Tuesday where she spoke to dozens of steel workers. She told them that the Biden Adminsitration is the most pro union in history and wants to restore the dignity of work. "Unions move America forward," she said while announcing an extreme heat program through the department of labor that protects workers from indoor and outdoor heat hazards. Along with Secreatary of Labor Marty Walsh, who joined her on the trip, Harris chairs the White House Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment which has introduced 70 exuctive actions intended make collective bargaining easier for workers.

Kerrion Franklin jailed without bail

A bizarre story has unfoleded around Kerrion Franklin the son of Kirk franklin. THe Bad Boys club star was arested and held without bail in connection with a car allegedly belonging ot a dead woman. He was intially pulled over for in Los ANgeles for a busted tale light . It was later deteriend tha the car belonged to a woman who is presumed to be murdered and a gun was found in it. He says the gun is not his and calims the ordeal is a set up. "Whowever sold me the casr was alive In a phoen call form jail, adding he had been stopped beofre and this is the first time the deaht of the owman has been metnioned. He said he has not been in any trouble since working on the west coast.
